On July 4, 2026, United Sports Association led a community fun run through downtown St. Petersburg to mark a milestone Independence Day — America’s 250th anniversary.

The Route

The run started at North Shore Park and wound through downtown St. Pete, past the Pier and along the waterfront — the same course we love for these holiday runs, chosen so the group would be right in the middle of the city’s celebration instead of watching from a distance.

Timed for the Fireworks

We timed the run to move through downtown right as the fireworks lit up the sky over the Pier. Runners and walkers found themselves in the thick of the biggest crowds of the night, with spectators cheering the group on — a fitting way to mark America’s 250th while surrounded by a packed, celebrating downtown.

A Fun Run, Not a Race

Like our New Year’s Eve run, this was a free, no-clock, no-registration gathering — runners and walkers of every pace turning out together. The cheering, the energy, and the sheer size of the crowd made it feel less like a run and more like the whole city celebrating together, with our group right in the middle of it.
